Fanny Bridge, Tahoe City CA

A PolyX Project

Fanny Bridge, Tahoe City CA

Overview

The historic Fanny Bridge project is located at a critical transportation junction near the intersection of State Route 89 and State Route 28. The project includes replacement of the Truckee River Bridge, construction of a new roundabout, pavement rehabilitation, and multimodal improvements such as sidewalks, bike lanes, landscaping, and pedestrian lighting. The project reduces congestion and improves safety while supporting automobile travel, pedestrian and bicycle mobility, public transit needs, emergency access, and long-term structural performance. PolyX’s CEX-320 Polyester Polymer Concrete system was selected for its proven durability under freeze-thaw cycles, environmental exposure, and heavy traffic loading—conditions especially demanding in the Lake Tahoe basin. The Fanny Bridge project reflects a balanced approach to infrastructure modernization, improving safety and operations today while ensuring durability and mobility for decades to come.
